Girard: The Girard Community Band presents a free Veterans Day concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St. Veterans in attendance will be recognized. Enjoy an evening of patriotic music and show appreciation for veterans.

Warren: Ponderosa Steakhouse, 3581 Elm Road, will give all veterans a free buffet and beverage from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.


Youngstown: A Veterans Day assembly will be at 9 a.m. today at Youngstown Christian School, 4401 Southern Blvd. Guest speaker will be Lt. Col. Erik Nagy, commander of the 437th Military Police Battalion. Several units in his battalion are serving in or getting ready to serve in the Middle East. The assembly will conclude at 9:30 a.m. All veterans are invited to stay for breakfast after the assembly.

Youngstown: Boy Scouts will host a Veterans Day flag-raising ceremony at Williamson Elementary School, 58 Williamson Ave., at 8:30 a.m. today. Third-grade Scouts will serve as color guard and raise the school’s flag as first- and second-grade Scouts and the school’s student body look on.


The 12th annual Golden Corral Restaurants Veterans Appreciation Dinner is from 4 to 9 p.m. today. The free meal is available to anyone who has served in the U.S. military including retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserve, at all Golden Corral Restaurants.

T.G.I. Friday’s, 7165 Tiffany Blvd., Youngstown, will honor veterans with a free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Take proof of military service, which includes a U.S. uniform services ID card, a U.S. uniform services retired ID card, a current leave and earnings statement, veterans organization card, a DD214 or a photograph in uniform, or wear your uniform.
