Three area high school football teams are still alive in the OHSAA playoffs. Today, Brookfield, Ursuline and Youngstown Christian learned where their respective regional finals will be played.
All three teams have a postseason history against their next opponent.
Unbeaten Brookfield (12-0), the top seed in Division IV, Region 13, will meet defending state champion Creston Norwayne (12-0) in a Division IV regional final Friday at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. It's a rematch of a first-round playoff game last season. Norwayne defeated Brookfield a year ago.
Ursuline (8-4) will face Kirtland (12-0), the top seed in Division V, Regional 17, in a regional final Saturday at Aurora High School. The Irish defeated the Hornets, 48-0, in a 2010 regional final on their way to a state championship.
Youngstown Christian (9-2) will face Mogadore (12-0), the top seed in Division VI, Region 21, in a regional final Friday at Ravenna High School. The Eagles beat the Wildcats, 20-17, in a first-round playoff game last season.
