Penn State speaker is Holocaust survivor

Published: Sun, November 11, 2012 @ 8:19 a.m.

SHARON, PA.

Holocaust survivor and human-rights activist Dr. Inge Auerbacher will present “The Holocaust Through the Eyes of a Child Survivor” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Penn State Shenango Forker Lab Forum.

The event is free and open to the public.

Auerbacher spent three years of her childhood imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp in Czechoslovakia, where out of 15,000 children, barely one percent survived. She has worked for more than 38 years as a chemist. She is the author of six books, and 50 of her poems have been published. She wrote the lyrics to “We Shall Never Forget,” which was presented at the 1981 Jerusalem “World Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors.”
