LOCAL TOPICS ON TV

“Community Connection” (7 a.m. Sunday on 21 WFMJ-TV; and 7 p.m. Tuesday on Time Warner Cable community access channel): The McGuffey Road Church of Christ has embarked upon a grand vision to feed 5,000 needy people in the area. Pastor Benjamin Trammell and Shirley Jackson will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the project.

Next, Julie Vugrinovich and Esther Gartland will discuss the Warren Junior Women’s League’s Champagne Luncheon and Fashion Show, which will feature members of the media as models.

Audra Carlson, education manager of the OH WOW! Children’s Center for Science and Technology will perform an “Oh Wow Moment” demonstrating how to launder dirty money.

Army Field Band coming to Powers

YOUNGSTOWN

The U.S. Army Field Band of Washington, D.C., will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Powers Auditorium, 260 W. Federal St.

The band’s appearance is sponsored by The Vindicator and Vindy.com, The Youngstown Symphony and Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music. For free tickets, call 330-744-0264.

Children’s brunch at the Playhouse

YOUNGSTOWN

“A Winter Wonderland,” Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theater’s second annual brunch, will be presented at noon Dec. 8, 15 and 22.

The interactive event includes favorite characters such as Santa and his elves. Children can let one of Santa’s reindeer know what they hope to see under the Christmas tree.

The holiday brunch is recommended for children age 1 to 12. Tickets are $7 for children and $10 for adults. Reservations are required. Call 330-788-8739.
