The student-operated restaurant, The Bistro at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, is open for lunch hours to the public.
The Bistro will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays for dine-in or carry-out through the spring.
Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at MCCTC operate the restaurant. This gives students the chance to gain experience in all facets of working in the restaurant industry while still enrolled in high school.
Throughout its months of operation, students take turns working as the kitchen staff, the sous chef, waiters and hosts.
This year features several new additions to the menu of freshly prepared soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts, with everything made by students under the supervision of Chef Matt Putzier, culinary arts instructor.
The Bistro can also accommodate large groups and is available for rental to the public.
