Hadley and Burns storm meet

Boardman High School juniors Mark Hadley and Alan Burns concluded one of the most impressive seasons in the history of Boardman High School’s cross country program with a sixth and 38th place finish at the OHSAA State Championship Meet in Hebron.

Hadley’s time of 15:29 set a new Boardman High School record besting Tim Power’s 29-year-old mark of 15:30. Hadley also earned First Team All Ohio status for the second consecutive season.

Burns also set a new career best running in a time of 16:01. That time places him seventh all-time in school history, one second behind Matt Moore from 2007. Besides being state competitors, Hadley and Burns were selected Academic All-Ohio for having overall GPA’s above 3.5.

The Spartan duo will next take on the Footlocker National Race in Wisconsin the weekend of the Thanksgiving holiday.
