The Youngstown Playhouse will present the area premiere of “Our Lady of 121st Street,” opening Friday and running for two weekends.
This show, part of the Griffith-Adler Actors Series in the theater’s Moyer Room, is being directed by Matthew Mazuroski, a theater professor at Youngstown State University. The play was written by Steven Adly Guirgis.
The cast is an ensemble of 12 actors.
The play takes place in the aftermath of the death of a beloved nun in an inner-city neighborhood. The diverse residents of the area must keep on going.
“Our Lady of 121st Street” contains strong language as is expected in a modern, urban setting.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and again Nov. 16 and 17. There also will be a matinee show at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Seating is limited in the Moyer Room, and reservations are suggested.
Call the box office at 330-788-8739 to reserve seats.
Tickets are $17 ($14 for seniors and students) at the door; and $15 ($12 for seniors and students) in advance.
