ELECTION UPDATE| Ohio: Rep. Ryan, Sen. Brown declared winners #vindyvote
YOUNGSTOWN — The Vindicator is calling U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles the winner in the 13th Congressional District race over Marisha Agana, his Republican challenger.
Ryan has at least 69 percent of the vote in each of the five counties in the district.
Also, The Vindicator is declaring U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown the winner in his re-election bid to the Senate, defeating Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, his Republican opponent.
With about 40 percent of the vote counted statewide, Brown has a 7 percentage point lead over Mandel.
The race for the 6th Congressional District is closer with incumbent Republican Bill Johnson of Marietta having a 4.36 percentage point lead over Charlie Wilson of St. Clairsville, his Democratic challenger.
With 70 percent of the vote counted in Columbiana County, the largest of the 18 counties in the 6th, Johnson is winning by 7 percentage points.
