Seminar on memory

BOARDMAN

Dr. Ted Suzelis, a naturopathic physician, is offering a free seminar, “Reversing Memory Loss,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at his Boardman office in South Bridge West, 755 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite D-3 (behind Second Sole). He will discuss factors related to deteriorating memory and natural methods to improve memory. For information or to register, call 330-729-1350 or register online at OhioND.com. Free story time

YOUNGSTOWN

A free story time with the iPad for 2- to 5-year-olds and their parents or guardians will be at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Newport Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 3730 Market St. The early literacy program will use Tumblebooks, a database of electronic children’s books with animated features, together with iPad applications geared toward early learning.

Free buffet for vets

WARREN

Ponderosa Steakhouse, 3581 Elm Road, will give all military veterans a free buffet dinner and beverage from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 12.

Grazing workshop

Lisbon

A grazing workshop will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, 9364 state Route 45. David Newsom of Purina Animal Nutrition and Charlie Ellington of AgLand Co-op Inc. will present a program on maximizing forages and sustained nutrition. During the event, participants are encouraged to visit with the Eastern Ohio Grazing Council members, as well as SWCD and NRCS personnel. Refreshments will be provided. Registration for the event is requested by Nov. 12. Sponsors of the event are AgLand Co-op Inc. and Circle L Fence Ltd. For information, call 330-627-9852.

Food drive at Covelli

AKRON

The D.A.L.E. Foundation, named for Dale Settle Jr., a University of Akron student killed in Canton in 2011, will have a food drive at the Covelli Centre from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 17. The organization helped more than 300 Akron-area families last year. Settle, a Newton Falls native, was killed while arriving for a late-night Bible study. Food donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

Austintown — Casal Aveda Institute, 6000 Mahoning Avenue; Boardman — Catullo Prime Meats, 7124 Tiffany Boulevard; Canfield — Ange Nettas Resaurant, 64 Cardinal Drive; and Kids First/Wee Ones Pediatrics, 4133 Boardman Canfield Road; Cortland — B&K Farm Market, 2396 Elm Road; Newton Falls — IGA, Shop N Save, Brenda’s Hair Salon; North Lima — ZID Reality.
