Ohio State Bar president will speak at Salem event

The president of the Ohio State Bar Association will visit Salem on Nov. 13 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession and to honor senior lawyers.

Judge Patrick F. Fischer of the 1st District Court of Appeals in Hamilton County, 2012-13 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 13 at the Salem Golf Club, 1967 S. Lincoln Ave.

OSBA District 13 includes 469 members who practice in Columbiana and Mahoning counties.

Atty. Dennis B. Haines of Vienna, Atty. Richard P. McLaughlin of Youngstown and Atty. James L. Pazol of Warren will be recognized for their 50 years of service to the legal profession.

James T. Hartford, Columbiana County Bar Association president, will deliver welcoming remarks.

OSBA members are welcome to attend the business meeting at no charge.

After the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional legal-education seminar will be offered from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Advance seminar/lunch registration is $95 for OSBA members and $115 for nonmembers; seminar-only registration is $70 for members and $85 for nonmembers; and lunch-only registration is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers.

After Tuesday, $25 will be added to the total registration fee.
