CINCINNATI

The final campaign blitz is on in the presidential battleground of Ohio, where the main candidates are making stops around the state as volunteers try to persuade residents one way or the other and get them to vote early.

Republican Mitt Romney was scheduled to visit Cleveland this afternoon as running mate Paul Ryan stops in Mansfield. Ryan also has a rally planned at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna on Monday night.

President Barack Obama planned a Sunday night rally in Cincinnati featuring a performance by Stevie Wonder.

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife scheduled a morning stop in suburban Cleveland before visits to Fremont in northwest Ohio and to Lancaster, southeast of Columbus.

Meanwhile, volunteers from activist and faith-based groups were pushing get-out-the-vote efforts, canvassing door-to-door and holding “souls to the polls” events to transport voters from churches to early voting sites.
