Junior Achievement honors government teacher at Fitch
Austintown Fitch High School teacher Jill Martin has been recognized as the Distinguished Educator Honoree by Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley at JA’s recent 60th Anniversary Celebration at Fellows Riverside Gardens of Mill Creek Park.
Martin teaches U.S. Government and Economics at Fitch and won the recognition for her dedication to teaching students about entrepreneurism, financial literacy and other business subjects with high levels of engagement and interaction.
She uses several JA programs in the classroom, including JA Economics, JA Company, Get Smart About Credit Day, Ethics Day and Financial Starting Points.
Martin has won several teaching awards during her 13-year tenure at Fitch, including the George Wilcox Award for most Promising Secondary Teacher and YSU’s Outstanding Student-Teacher Award.
