Home Savings will accept donations for food pantries

Youngstown

The Home Savings and Loan Co. of Youngstown is rolling out a bankwide initiative to help provide 50,000 meals to the hungry in all the communities it serves.

In partnership with local food pantries throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, the bank’s branches will accept donations and then hand the proceeds to selected pantries.

For every dollar donated, about $15 worth of food can be distributed, according to participating pantries.

Home Savings also will link the initiative to the “likes” the company receives on its Facebook page. Every time users click the “like” button, the bank will donate $1 to the cause.

Although the bank’s goal is to provide 50,000 meals, it will try to surpass that mark. For more information on Home Savings’ efforts and a list of participating food pantries, visit www.homesavings.com/HomeAidMeals.
