Hilltop Elementary School students pulled out all the stops and got into the Halloween spirit ahead of the holiday during the school’s annual Halloween parade and classroom parties Oct. 26.

Taking advantage of the nice fall weather, each class had a chance to show off their costumes to the large crowd of families and friends who lined the sidewalks as the students paraded around the school. The students then entered the multi-purpose room where more guests were waiting to see them.

Hilltop Elementary School Principal Cathy Mowry introduced each class on stage and gave their guests a chance to take group pictures.

The students then paraded through the hallways of the school and visited the other classrooms. They were greeted with hoots and hollers and given high fives by their fellow Hilltoppers. Several teachers and staff members also got into the Halloween spirit by dressing in costume.

Each grade offered a variety of costumes, from sports stars to clowns, princesses to military men and women, and, of course, the perennial superheroes and witches. There were even some rock stars.

When the parade was over, the students went back to their classroom for their Halloween party. PTO volunteers in each classroom provided games for the children to play, such as pumpkin bean bag toss and mummy wrap, utilizing several rolls of toilet paper, and, of course, holiday crafts for the children to make and take home. The Hilltop Elementary School PTO provided snacks and drinks for the parties.
