A 27-year-old Oak Knoll Avenue Southeast woman reported being attacked in the shower at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday by a burglar.
The woman said an unidentified white male punched her in the head while she was in the shower, causing her to fall backward and strike the back of her head on the wall.
Police said the woman had a small bump on her forehead, but said she didn’t need medical attention.
The woman told police she heard the man who punched her telling another person, “Let’s get out of here.”
The woman and officers determined that the woman’s bedroom had been ransacked and that a large amount of jewelry was missing, along with $40 in cash taken from her wallet, which was found on the kitchen table, no longer in her purse.
Officers found pry marks on the rear door frame, where they believe the burglar broke in.
