Elite EMS to aid in N.J. storm cleanup


Elite EMS in Hermitage, Pa., is sending its special operations ambulance unit to New Jersey to help with emergency services and storm relief.

The unit will be part of the Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services Strike Team.

Two paramedics and two emergency medical technicians left Thursday and are expected to return Monday.

Elite EMS unveiled its special operations unit in 2010. The ambulance is configured for disaster operations.

The ambulance company serves Clark, Hermitage, Farrell, Lackawannock Township, Sharon, Sharpsville, Shenango Township, South Pymatuning Township, West Middlesex, Wheatland and surrounding communities.
