Financial peace

Financial Peace University, a 10-week program taught by Dave Ramsey, has helped more than 750,000 families change their financial future.

New Life Church, 2250 E. Western Reserve Road, will begin classes at 6:30 p.m. May 30. For more information or registration, contact Chris Russo at 330-757-0727. There is a $75 fee. Among topics are budgeting, buying bargains, getting out of debt, understanding investments and insurance and retirement and college planning. Ramsey is the author of “The Total Money Makeover,” “Financial Peace” and “More Than Enough.”

Finance for kids

Junior Achievement, Huntington Bank and the Willard K-8 School will partner for an educational lesson regarding business and finance.

The “JA in a Day” program will feature 30 Huntington Bank officials traveling to the school from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. The bank officials will serve as role models and teach the children business ideas that will help them progress as future members of the workforce.

NE Warren cleanup

A cleanup of the northeast area of the city will start at 9 a.m. today. Participants are asked to bring gloves and bags if possible. Two northeast neighborhood groups will join with the Boy Scouts. The starting point is the Knights of Columbus Hall at the corner of Genessee Avenue and East Market Street. Hot dogs and snacks will be provided afterwards.

Tourism calendar

The Trumbull County Tourism Bureau is collecting information for its 2012 June through September calendar of events. New this year because of the number of events taking place throughout the summer months, the events brochure is now published four times a year. The first printing included events from January through April; the second is for April through June; the next printing will be for June through September; and the fourth will be September through December. Also new this year is the capability to submit event material directly to the bureau website: Click on “Submit an Event.” Submissions should be in by Friday. However, items for the online calendar can be submitted at any time.
