FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

WEDNESDAY

Pricetown United Methodist Church, 4640 Pritchard-Ohltown Road, Newton Falls, will have a home-cooked chicken pot pie dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today. Each meal includes an individual-size pot pie, potato pirogi, salad, roll, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 12; younger children are free. This will be the last dinner of the season.

THURSDAY

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out). Dinners include stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. The cost is $6. Drive up to the door, and a volunteer will bring the meal to your car. To order ahead call 330-549-2588.

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

VFW Triangle Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12; carryouts are $6.25. The menu includes meatballs, salad, Italian bread, and coffee or tea.

FRIDAY

American Legion FDR Post 560, 103 12th St., Campbell, is having a fish/shrimp fry from noon to 6 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The dinner is dine-in or takeout and includes fish/shrimp, macaroni and cheese or french fries, coleslaw and bread. Dessert and beverages also are available. Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528, and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

James Gang will sell ribs, chicken and hot dogs at the Boardman Relay for Life today and Saturday at the team’s tent on Stadium Drive. All proceeds go to Boardman Relay for Life.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $4.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The final sale of the season will be May 25.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SATURDAY

Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will have a chicken pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The meal includes potato, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12; preschool children are free. Takeouts are available. Call 330-638-5189 for information.

St. Luke Episcopal Church, 348 Robbins Ave., Niles, will have a roast beef dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal includes a salad bar and an ice cream sundae bar. SUNDAY

VFW Triangle Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a homestyle Mother’s Day breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. The menu includes eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea.

TUESDAY

Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will sell stuffed cabbage rolls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out) for $1.50 each. To order call 330-799-5318 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance orders are appreciated.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard will be selling homemade pepperoni rolls, chicken noodle soup and freshly baked bread May 19. Pepperoni rolls are $6 each, and the soup is $5 per quart or $3 per pint. Bread is $1.50 a loaf. Soup can be ordered by calling 330-647-7515. Orders must be received by May 18. Pickup at the church, 890 Church Hill Road in Girard, will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

UPCOMING

Bessemer Presbyterian Church, 29 N. Main St., Bessemer, Pa., is planning a ham loaf dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. May 19. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the church office at 724-667-7255. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12. Those 5 and under are free. There will be a limited number of tickets sold at the door. Takeouts will be available. Proceeds will benefit the church’s building fund.

The Historic Lutheran Church of St. John, 1420 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will serve all-you-can eat spaghetti dinners at noon May 20. Meals include homemade meatballs, bread, dessert and a beverage. Prices are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 10. For a reservation call 330-799-1751. The dinner is sponsored by the Ladies Altar Guild.
