BOOK SALES

The Community Library of the Shenango Valley, 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, Pa., will have a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and will feature a special selection of coffee table books. There also will be thousands of gently used books, magazines and audiovisual materials. Proceeds will benefit the library.

CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Holy Apostles Parish will sponsor a bingo party every Friday at Cardinal Mindszenty Hall, 545 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and there will be an early bird at 6:45. For information call 330-792-1174.

Liberty Presbyterian Church, 1451 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, will host a basket bingo at 1 p.m. May 20. The cost of admission is a $5 donation. Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 330-534-3778. There also will be a raffle for four commemorative tickets to the New York Penn League All-Star baseball game at Eastwood Field Aug. 14.

Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will have its annual card and bingo party from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 30. Cards will be played from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30, and door prizes will be awarded from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Bingo will start at 1 and cards also may be played from 1 to 3:30 p.m. There will be a 50-50 raffle and a money tree raffle. The cost is $5 per person and registration is required. To register call the center at 330-544-3676, or stop in.

St. Mark Orthodox Church Ladies Altar Society will present its annual card party at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the fellowship hall, 3560 Logan Way. There also will be an ethnic/American pastry sale, which is open to the public; door prizes, donated by the ladies of the church; and a basket raffle. The entrance fee is $5 and will include a luncheon and beverage.

FLEA MARKETS

Salem Memorial Building Association will host an indoor yard sale and flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 19 in the gym. One or more 8-foot tables with chairs may be reserved for a donation of $10 each. Set-up time is from 6 to 8 a.m. the day of the sale, and all items are subject to approval. Stop in or mail a request for space, payable to the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., Salem, OH 44460. For information call 330-332-5512.

VFW Post 6488 Auxiliary, 2065 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, is seeking vendors for its mini flea market scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Cost for a table or space (inside or out) $20; a tent no larger than 10-by-10-foot is permitted. Call 330-743-1943.

FUNDRAISERS

Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St., North Lima, is having a barbeque chicken dinner and flower sale from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The cost of the dinner is a donation, and all proceeds will support the community day camp sponsored by the church and Camp Frederick of Rogers, Ohio. The day camp, which is free and open to the public, has been scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day from Aug. 6 through 10. For information call the church office at 330-549-2406.

SALES

First United Methodist Church of Hubbard, 48 Church St., will have a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Wesley Hall. There will be clothes, toys, puzzles, books, household items and small appliances.

Girard Junior Women will sponsor a trunk sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Girard City Parking lot. The cost to sell from a car trunk or to set up a table is $10.

St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will have its annual Spring Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. There will be spring and summer clothes, jewelry, household items, books, small appliances and toys. Friday will be half-price day.

TRIPS

The 2012 Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Committee is sponsoring a bus trip to Wheeling Downs Racetrack and Casino on May 19. All proceeds from the trip will go to the American Cancer Society. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from Fab Limo, on Connecticut Avenue in Austintown, and will depart from Wheeling Downs at 5 p.m. The cost is $30 per person, and each player will receive $25 in free pay.
