Parent company of WKBN and WYTV sold

The company that owns Youngstown television stations WKBN and WYTV has been sold to LIN TV Corp. of Providence, R.I.

The $330.4 million deal includes 13 network affiliates, including the Youngstown stations, of New Vision Television.

Also included in the deal are television stations in Portland, OR; Birmingham, AL, Wichita, KS, Honolulu, HI, Savannah, GA, Topeka, KS and Mason City, IA.

The sale includes a cause to retain all employees in all stations, said David Coy, president and general manager of WKBN-TV, according to the station’s website.

The sale is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, and New Vision expects the acquisition to close before the end of 2012.
