Another fight reported near Taft School in Youngstown

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

Another Sunday afternoon fight sent police scrambling to the area around Taft School Sunday.

Police received a call at 5:45 p.m. about two juvenile girls fighting near the school with a large crowd gathered around to watch. By the time police arrived, the fight was over and the crowd had broken up with various groups of juveniles walking away from the area.

The Taft school was the site of a large fight last month that was recorded and uploaded to the Internet.

Police have made several arrest for felony rioting and trespassing stemming from that fight.

Some native tribes watch fights for entertainment. Others watch Pit Bull dog fights and Cock (Chicken) fights.
How about pro wrestling (not high school supervised ) People have been watching that for years on black and white TV, only thing televised late at night. No talk shows or infomercials.

In my teens we would gather in large groups for prayer. Yes I went to Youngstown public schools, no it wasn't too long ago.

The parents need to step in, the only assistance some of these people should receive is classes on raising kids to be respectful, productive, and visionaries in a modern world. Great things could be achieved...

How about if you want your monthly checks and benefits, you have to take parenting classes and your children have to maintain a certain grade average...Best believe the mamas will suddenly become involved in their childrens lives...

Contact your local politicians and demand change. Tell them if they don't back you up on this issue you won't be voting for them come election time.

Tell your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same.

Great idea Valleys_Voice, but this has been proposed numerous times, particularly in the schools. The politicians will have none of it because it is easier for them to shoot the messengers than to place blame on the parents. Too many votes to lose. This "Parent Responsibility" initiative is the only way to reign in negligent "parents" and maybe the time has come for it to become a reality. I'd be curious to know what the valley politicians have to say about this.
