FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a baked chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church. The meal includes salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be available for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. For takeouts call the church at 330-743-3175.

Southington United Methodist Church, 4348 Smith-Nelson Road, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. today. The meal consists of a quarter chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw and dessert. Prices are $8 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 10 with chicken tenders, and free for those 3 and under. Carryouts will be available; call 330-898-2156.

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have takeout chicken dinners available from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car. Just drive to the front of the church, and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $7 and includes stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 Friday at 330-746-9528, and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

King Solomon Lodge 87 PHF & AM, 505 Highland Ave. SW, Warren, will have a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for a dinner is $8, and sandwiches are $6. Dinners include a choice of catfish or whiting, green beans, macaroni and cheese, mean greens, potato salad, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Patrons can eat in or carry out. St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $4.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available.

Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave., Warren, will have an all-you-can-eat fish dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal features ocean perch, potatoes, coleslaw, dessert and a beverage. Meatloaf will also be available. The cost is $9 for adults and $3 for children 4 to 11; younger children eat free. Carryouts are available starting at 3:30 p.m. This will be the last fish dinner until Oct. 5.

SATURDAY

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. (or until sold out). Meals include a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and a brownie for $7. Drive to the front of the church to place your order.

St. Nicholas Church will serve a cavatelli dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Great Hall, 764 Fifth St., Struthers. The cost for dine-in or carryout is $7 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under. Meals include pasta, meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage. There also will be a 50-50 raffle and a raffle for a 46-inch LED TV. Pre-sale raffle tickets for the TV are available at the church office for $5 each. Proceeds will benefit the church’s capital campaign.

SUNDAY

Girard Eagles Auxiliary 2172 is planning a benefit pasta dinner from noon to 4 p.m. in the back hall at the aerie, 26 W. Wilson Ave. The cost is $5 per person and will include tossed salad, cake and coffee or tea. There also will be a 50-50 drawing, basket raffle and baked goods. Proceeds will benefit club member Syndi Scott, who is recovering from a stroke. Carryout orders can be placed at 330-545-6619.

St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will be the site of a chicken parmesan dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Takeouts are available.

The Auxiliary of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve breakfasts of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, pancakes or freedom toast, toast, and coffee, tea or hot chocolate from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

TUESDAY

Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., will sell stuffed cabbage rolls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out) every Tuesday for $1.50 each. To order call 330-799-5318 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance orders are appreciated.

TAKING ORDERS

Lydia Circle of Girard First United Methodist Church is taking orders for individual-size ham loaves for $2 each. Pickup will be from 1 to 4 p.m. May 14 at the church fellowship hall, 22 N. Market St., Girard. To order call 330-545-4361. All orders must be in by Tuesday.

Youngstown American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for stuffed cabbage at $13 per dozen. Advance orders are advised and can be placed through Friday at 330-792-5124. Pickup will be from 1 to 3 p.m. May 11 and May 12 at the club house. Take your own container to save $1.25 for each container provided by the club.

UPCOMING

Bessemer Presbyterian Church, 29 N. Main St., Bessemer, Pa., is planning a ham loaf dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. May 19. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the church office at 724-667-7255. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12. Those 5 and under are free. There will be a limited number of tickets sold at the door. Takeouts will be available. Proceeds will benefit the church’s building fund.

Pricetown United Methodist Church, 4640 Pritchard-Ohltown Road, Newton Falls, will have a chicken pot pie dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. May 9. Each meal includes an individual pot pie, potato pirogi, salad, roll, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 6 to 12; younger children are free. This will be the last dinner of the season.

St. Luke Episcopal Church, 348 Robbins Ave., Niles, will have a roast beef dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 12. The meal includes a salad bar and an ice cream sundae bar. The cost is $9 for adults and $3.50 for children; those 5 and under are free. For tickets call 330-652-2952, 330-652-4057 or 330-652-9490. Proceeds will benefit the community outreach program.
