Youngstown Sports Grille to close Saturday

Published: Tue, March 27, 2012 @ 3:49 p.m.

BOARDMAN — The Youngstown Sports Grille’s final day of operations at its current location will be Saturday, the owner confirmed today.

Owner Sean Pregibon said his business has leased the building at 7463 South Ave. since it moved there six years ago and was told two years ago that the owners were putting it up for sale.

“We got a call late last week that our landlord had sold the building. ...Our last day will be this Saturday and coincidentally, it’s the Final Four and Ohio State University is playing ... We’ll have a big going-away party with style. We have a lot to be proud of,” Pregibon said.

The business is looking at possible new locations, including two in downtown Youngstown, and should be open again in several months, he added.

How about South Avenue in south side Youngstown? Be the first to start the revitalization of the South Ave corridor!

Thats not a bad idea, but in all due respect, I doubt they would consider it because of the high crime in the area. Too many businesses have shuttered their doors and I doubt we have seen the last of it. Thats sad because I grew up in the area and it has fallen on hard times!!!

First step is to pay bills and late taxes. The building is not sold, Vintage Estates is moving over there.

B E serious, who in their right mind would put anything in that war zone? More goofy ideas from liberals. Ask the people commenting above to invest their own money in a project to put a sports bar on Youngstowns southside.

Why not investigate using part of the old Value city? Just across the street from their current location with great parking.

Th old Rusty's has been sold so that isn't an option nor is the old steak restaurant that was next to Inner Circle. Actually, in my honest opinion, he should move back to Boardman Plaza or another smaller space - his food and level of service diminished greatly when he moved to his current location.
