Following tradition: Ronald V. Gerberry of Austintown, D-59th, one of the most senior members of the Ohio House, is a traditionalist.
He objected when Gov. John Kasich, a Republican, delivered the State of the State address outside of Columbus.
Now, Gerberry says he’s concerned that Kasich proposed a large budget bill on Wednesday, less than a year through the state’s two-year budget cycle.
“This is not good public policy,” Gerberry said. “We see what happens with annual budgets in Washington.”
Office hours: U.S. Sen. Rob Portman’s staff will hold office hours at 21 W. Boardman St., Suite 200, in Youngstown from 10 to 11 a.m. March 28. Constituents can share their opinions and concerns about various issues with a district representative who will provide their feedback to Portman, a Republican. No appointment is needed.
