Poetry readings set at Pig Iron Press
Pig Iron Literary & Art Works will have its 2nd Tuesday open-poetry reading at Pig Iron Press, 26 N. Phelps St., downtown, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Readings take place every second Tuesday of the month.
Canfield author plans book signing in Kent
Michele Gianetti, R.N., will attend a “Meet the Author” event from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Kent Free Library, 312 W. Main St.
The Canfield resident will sign copies of her book, “I Believe in You: a Mother and Daughter’s Special Journey.” The book delves into the journey that she and her daughter, Elizabeth, faced in Elizabeth’s world of dyspraxia and sensory- processing disorder.

Youngstown State alumnus writes a book of poetry
Pig Iron Press announces that a new book of 88 poems by Atty. James E. Carlisle of Toledo, formerly of Youngstown, has been published.
“Mirrors of The Heart: Reflections Of My Familiar” is said to reflect the author’s confrontation with self-growth, his effort to local cultural identity, his spiritual development and his quest for friendship and love.
Carlisle was raised in Youngstown and graduated from South High School in 1963 and from Youngstown State University in 1967.
The poet’s collection of autobiographical reflections, “Through a Glass Darkly,” was published by Dorrance Publishing in 2004.
“Mirrors of the Heart” is in paperback and sells for $15.
