YOUNGSTOWN — You have about four hours to pay your first-half 2011 real-estate taxes in person if you live in Mahoning County at the treasurer's office on the first floor of the county courthouse, 120 Market St.
Payments mailed in and postmarked today will be considered on time. By law, there is a 10-percent penalty assessed if payments are received after today.
Taxpayers can pay taxes online by check or credit card, Check the web site at http://treasurer.mahoningcountyoh.gov. Checks should be made payable to Mahoning County Treasurer Daniel R. Yemma

I am tired of funding the the MRDD on my PP tax bill. Less than 1% of PP paying in the county use it. Why is this funded by the county? Should be funded at the state or fed level. There is always a frickin levy every year and it passes with 70% approval.
