Youngstown ad agency exec pulls clients' ads from Limbaugh show

Published: Wed, March 7, 2012 @ 1:35 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Robert C. Roach, president of Youngstown-based PageOne Advertising, LLC, today sent a letter to all agency clients explaining his decision to no longer purchase or place advertisements on behalf of clients to air during The Rush Limbaugh Show, which airs locally on 570 WKBN-AM.

PageOne represents clients in the Cleveland, Akron/Canton, Youngstown/Warren, and Pittsburgh media markets.

In a letter to agency clients, Roach said “No woman, including Ms. [Sandra] Fluke, should ever be subject to the type of insults and vitriol broadcast during 'The Rush Limbaugh Show' last week, and no individual or business should wish to be associated with this type of irresponsible behavior.”

It is not known the value of PageOne ads that are heard on Limbaugh’s show. Roach was not immediately available for comment.

The radio host has come under fire after calling a Georgetown University law student derogatory names after she testified to congressional Democrats in support of national health-care policies that would require employers to offer group health insurance that covers birth control.

State Rep. Robert F. Hagan of Youngstown, D-60th, is circulating a petition to remove the conservative talker from WKBN.

Why not mention some of their clients so people know who NOT to buy from.
Sandra Fluke is another example of wanting something BUT let other people pay for it.

Will Barack Obama give back Bill Maher's $1,000,000 donation. If you don't know Maher has made more derogatory comments about women than Rush ever has.

What kind of cheap outfit is this. I tried emailing them and could not make contact. I will try calling and get a list of customers. Most likely will not give this info out.

Being the mother of 5 girls and grandmother of 8 girls, I commend you on your decision to stop advertising there. That was an almost week long assault on every young woman in this country. I have never heard such vile filth on a radio station and to aim it at a college student while telling lies about her testimony was a disgrace.

appleannie, Would any of YOUR daughters go on national TV and proclaim to use $3,000.00 worth of birth control ?? And WHY should WE have to pay for Fluke's birth control pills?
