Can you imagine a White Nurses Association. Just saying.
How is this not racist? Can whites receive a scholarship? My guess is no.
This is racist and offensive to me!
I know they're not white, but the Sons of Italy also gives out numerous scholarships. Do all of you have a problem with them only giving scholarships to Italians?
This is just a group giving out a targeted scholarship for a good reason and cause. My concern is that applicants only need a 2.0 gpa to qualify. I'm not sure you will survive the curriculum if you don't have the smarts. Just sayin...
300...... I do not have a problem with scholarships by an Italian orginization going to italiians only same as a company giving to employees only of that certain company, or high school, or church group. We are talking about race. Limiting anything by race is racism.
300, Is there a Youngstown-Warren WHITE Nursing Assoc.? This is pure racism.
There's a difference if a private club wants to donate. Are you sure that the Italian club Doesn't include blacks?
So, why does Sons of Italy not get jeered when none of its scholarships go to any whites?
As a white, should I feel left out since none of my kids can ever apply for a Mediterraneans-only award?
Private groups can give to whomever they like. And way to go, Commoncitizen, for not knowing what an "association" refers to.
It's racist know matter how you look at it. Can you imagine the outcry if their was a White Nurses Association or a National association of Black Journalists, or even a Where Black People meet dating site (www.blackpeoplemeet.com), etc.
Don't even say their would be none because you are only kidding yourself. Just saying....
2.0? if your in the nursing program at ysu which my daughter is thats about D or below on their grading scale. Now if your going to give a scholarship out shouldn't it be to a student who is an average c+ or higher one who is trying to strive.
