Ex-Warren superintendent was ‘less comfortable’ with board decisions

WARREN

The Warren Board of Education unanimously accepted Bruce Thomas’ resignation this afternoon and appointed an interim leader.

Thomas informed the board of his resignation in an email Sunday night.

“While I would have liked to have continued moving the district forward academically, as I promised when I was hired last June, I have become increasingly less comfortable with the decisions the board has been making,” Thomas wrote in the email.

Board President Regina Patterson said the board was surprised by Thomas’ resignation and that he had not communicated any discomfort with board decisions to members.

Loree Richardson is the interim superintendent; she had been an associate superintendent — and had served as interim during the search that led to Thomas.
