Alvarez’s six RBIs power Pirates past Indians 9-5
CLEVELAND (AP) — Pedro Alvarez drove in a career-high six runs with his second two-homer game in two days, powering the Pittsburgh Pirates past the Cleveland Indians 9-5 Sunday.
Alvarez hit three-run homers in the fourth and fifth innings for his fourth career multihomer game. He also doubled, for his first game of three extra-base hits.
Tony Watson (4-0), the second of five Pirates pitchers, worked 1 2/3 innings of relief as Pittsburgh took two of three for their sixth series win in the last seven chances.
Jeanmar Gomez (4-6) allowed eight runs — four earned — over 4 1-3 innings for Cleveland. Eight runs came directly after three errors by shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera. The Indians lost for the fifth time in six games.

The June swoon is going strong.
If only Alvarez was consistent. The Bucs have been so patience with Pedro, hopefully it pays dividends in the end. Go Bucs!
I was driving back from Pittsburgh on Friday morning and on 93.7 The Fan, all of the callers wanted to option him to AAA. Bet they are changing their tune now. GO BUCS!
