Some of you act like this is a game? What if it happened to you or your family? Then what would your reaction be?

Yesterday the Youngstown police department launched its VIP program: Violence Interruption Patrols. Cute name, but it obviously made no difference. Nothing short of massive intervention will. But then again this is the southside of Youngstown, USA, not southern Afghanistan. So Uncle Sam and the 1% do not give a damn.

Go to Mahoning co courts and look at his record. I am happy he is off the streets. Let them keep killing each other. Glad to see my tax dollars supporting this kind of trash.

"Again...another south side incident whilst everyone was home from work on lunch, having a simple meal."

Seriously? Home from work for lunch? You really believe that?

briant, agree with you except that there is no raising taking place, just have them and go work on the next one. More you have the more taxpayer money you get.

Perhaps we should start a lottery to see which street on the south side will have the honor of the first two separate cleansings! Might as well let the thugs provide some entertainment.

Until the welfare system is revised nothing will change. Stop giving free handouts to these people. The more kids they have the more money they receive - period. One child is killed so the mom pops another one out to compensate for lost wages. It'll only get worse.

If you want to entice people to do something you pay them. The federal government is responsible for this useless subculture. There really are some people living in these neighborhoods who are trying to live life the right way. However, the city should save any money they spend on economic development. These fools make it impossible for anyone to choose to live in Youngstown if they can possibly afford to live anywhere else.

Instead of letting these criminals out of jail early can the criminal justice system please put together a program that puts these offenders to work cleaning up these neighborhoods? Please give us taxpayers something for all this money we are throwing at "poverty". Look at the good things that have been done by the CCA on Market Street. I almost feel safe driving down Market street now that they tore down all the buildings and I can see trouble coming from a long way. The federal government needs to stop borrowing my kids' money to give it to these kids' to make more kids. Please! Either make the changes or get the hell out of office!

"wow! the ppl on here talking about how no good and lazy and messed up ppl in youngstown are is really just as bad as the no good messed up ppl.""

No need to go the sentimental path, sugar coating, etc. This is the "real" life, it is what it is. Are you not sick and tired of the murders for the most senseless things? What if a "INNOCENT" child or a "INNOCENT" person was gunned down because of these young wanna be gangstas playing with guns. You reap what you sow but leave the INNOCENT ones, the ones that work, try to raise a family, drug free, out of it. His family had to know what was going on, and what did they do to stop him? Nothing! So quit blaming the INNOCENT citizens and blame who needs to be blamed! The players in all this. smh at such stupidity in society today.

blame the innocent im not doing. its just crazy anybody can celebrate the death of anyone. ok so he wasnt a nice person. so that justifies whats being said? i do belive what comes around goes around. but its just amazes me that so many so called innocent ppl can celebrate the death of anyone. and if his family did know how could they stop him? im sure someone was praying and really as parents of adults thats all we can do.

@ holly i agree with you. a parent can raise a child in a good home with the best and install morals and everything else. but when that child becomes grown they choose what they do. once they are grown all you can do is pray and hope they will change. a person can talk til they blue in the face if a person dont want to change they wont. you continue to be positive and don't worry about the ignorant comments that were said to you on here. that shows they have their heads so far up their a** that they don't have the mindset to try and make a stand. it's funny how ppl have so much to say but don't get up off their a** and do something. it's not about hitting home for holly she is telling the truth but if you weren't so high in the clouds you would realize it. it was a couple comments on here celebrating his death. one was davybabyboy who said " I'm glad he off the street" duh doesn't that sound like celebrating? and the other said karma for their family. they lost one of theirs so the 5yrs waiting was worth it. duh that sounds like celebrating to me. @ danikytn you can't say it wont happen to your family all you can do is hope and pray. it don't matter where you live because you can be out minding your business and get robbed or something can happen where you are. shut up with that dumb talk it will never happen sounds to me like you are one who talks and no action. if ppl are not willing to stand and make a change then they should shut up. you ever hear of actions speak louder than words? well your words a speaking louder than your actions. it don't matter about his rap sheet. that fact is he is gone and his family is hurting behind someone wanting to play God and take his life. No one as the right to take a life only God. and as far as ppl saying they glad tax dollars are going toward ppl killing. u sound stupid as h*ll. it's sad that my tax dollars are not going toward cleaning up the holes in the streets or tearing down all the empty houses and buildings that are easy for crime to take place. it's a shame that we have scary cops who only worry about the westside instead of worrying about high crime areas. the only time you see them on the southside is when they sitting at the shell on south ave and midlothian having coffee and doughnut hour. wow and to think my tax dollars are paying for that lol. all of you who made your negative comments on here need to wake up because you are no better than anyone else. you are just stuck up and ignorant. @ holly you keep praying and trusting in god for what you need because he will come through for you.

I'm glad the POS is dead so he won't corrupt MY kids one day.......not that I would allow that as I keep a close watch on my kids. I am so disgusted that the gov't continues to "fund" this lifestyle I could puke. They need to completely revoke the welfare system, START DRUG TESTING, and monitor the f-ing lowlifes they give my husband's hard earned money to. In the meantime, let the bastards blow each other's a$$e$ off the face of the earth.
