Thomas Altiere Jr., 33, the son of the Trumbull County sheriff, has asked a visiting judge to allow him to be released from the Ohio prison system.
Altiere’s attorney, Gary Rich, filed a motion Friday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court asking for judicial release.
Judicial release would allow Altiere to leave prison after serving 30 days of the 17-month sentence he received from Judge Richard D. Reinbold Jr. on May 8. Altiere arrived at the Lorain Correctional Institute on May 11.
At the time Judge Reinbold sentenced Altiere to prison, he told Altiere he’d be eligible for judicial release if he behaved while in prison.
Altiere, of Royal Troon Drive in Howland, was sent to prison for violating the terms of his probation on a charge of deception to obtain a dangerous drug.
No hearing in common pleas court has been set in the case.

Why should he be let out early... after 30 days... maybe keep him in there until he learns his lesson... he was given that sentence for a reason... It should not matter who his father is or what his title is... see you in 16 months... have a good stay.......
Did the crime......do the time. STAY, enjoy ...the ...stay. The tax payers paid for the trial...now...man up and do the time, or maybe if he has to be sprung early...he can reimburse the court for the trial and expenses involved.
@endthismess: I agree and also should reimburse what the going rate per day of his stay was back to the taxpayers.
30 days of the 17-month sentence...and now he is sorry? Keep him there
He was given chances before and he blew it ! Make him stay his full time so maybe he will learn something by this !
