Founder of rock band Television at Lemon Grove

Richard Lloyd, one of the founding members of influential rock band Television, will play at the Lemon Grove Cafe, 122 W. Federal St., on Friday. Opening acts include Grand Strand, led by Kelley Anderson, formerly of Those Darlins; guitarist Michael Andrecic of Zhopa Mira; and Modern Life. Tickets are $10.

Lloyd and fellow guitarist Tom Verlaine introduced Television’s unique two-guitar sound on the band’s groundbreaking 1973 debut “Marquee Moon.” The band launched the punk scene at legendary New York club CBGB’s.
