Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have takeout dinners available from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car. Just drive to the front of the church, and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.
VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12; carryouts are $6.25. The menu includes meatballs, salad, Italian bread and coffee or tea.
Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $7 and includes stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie.
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available. This is the last sale of the season.
Robbins United Methodist Church, 100 High St., Washingtonville, will have its annual strawberry festival from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The a la carte menu will include hot turkey sandwiches, sloppy joes, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, strawberries with shortcake or angel food cake (with or without ice cream), coffee, punch and iced tea.
Smith Corners United Methodist Church, corner of Kirk Road and Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to noon. First United Methodist Church of West Austintown, 6749 Mahoning Ave., will have a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. June 16 in the church fellowship hall. The menu will include sausage, orange juice and coffee, and meals are $7 for adults and $5 for children. Children under 3 may eat free of charge.
Peddler’s Day Committee in Hanoverton will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. June 16 at the Ruritan Building on Second Street. The dinner includes salad, bread, beverage and dessert. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 8 and under. Proceeds will benefit the Peddler’s Day celebration scheduled for July 14 and July 15.
