Female shot on South Side this afternoon

Published: Tue, June 5, 2012 @ 4:45 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A female who was shot in the hand on the South Side during a large fight is listed as stable at a local hospital.

Police responded to a call about a large fight at 3 p.m. at the corner of East Avondale and South Avenue today, but before officers could make it to the scene, the woman, whose age has not been given, was shot in the hand.

Officers cleared the area and had the woman taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police are still on the scene and investigating the shooting.

The fight and shooting took place not far from Taft Elementary School, the location of another large fight earlier this year that resulted in multiple arrests and an extensive police investigation.

It looks like the female hoodrats are competing with the males for stupidity.

I used to pick up my Vindicator bundles every day at 3:30 at the corner of East Avondale and South Ave. at Joe Italiano's Citgo station. That location is now a store with animals roaming around it. A great neighborhood to live in at one time that has been turned into an absolute jungle by the animals. Only difference is these animals shoot back at each other.

Drove down through that neighborhood monday afternoon @ same time, but at corner of E. Boston and Gibson. If only i had a camera, people would be outraged at the zoo that area has become.Bunch of punks all over, kid (no older than 15) with a blunt in his mouth walking as slow as possible through intersection giving me dirty looks when we have green light right of way. Wonder why young black kids are stereo typed as not living long and dying young(no common sense). No police presence = streets run wild.

Governor Kasich should be hailed as a hero by all Obama-brainwashed Youngstown residents that have school-age children. Kasich personally pushed through the EdChoice voucher program which allows all TAFT ELEMENTARY students to flee this bullet-riddled war zone and attend a quality private school of their choice, free of charge! A new multi-million $$ public school building will not eliminate the generational criminal genes that these ghetto teenagers have inherited.

Laughing out loud!

What private school do you imagine accepting these kids?

As a 6th grade teacher this year my class was ruined by students we admitted after they were bounced from 1. Youngstown Christian
2. Youngstown Community School
3. a Cleveland, OH school
4. Poland to Williamson to Wilson to us
5. a Connecticut school

My class was already used to attending school in the city, but the antics of these were truly amazing. It was continual disruption after their arrival.

They have grown up to rule their neighborhoods and feel empowered to beat up, rob, steal from, or run anyone off. What these knuckelheads cannot understand is they are living their lives on a very short string and will either die a violent death or spend the rest of their lives in and out of jail. If this is the life and reputation they seek, then all hope is lost for their salvation. What is really sad is, these knuckleheads have no clue and could care less.

So what does society do? Do we rope off their territory and let them have it? Starve them to death? Cut off their mama's monthly check? No, we continue doing the same every year, throwing away money we don't have and hope and pray they will change their ways. We all know that's not going to happen. Such a danger to society and what a waste of life.

To EducationVoter:
Our family can speak from 12 years experience within Y-town schools. Taft Elementary (along with all of the other city schools) is loaded with many good students that qualify for private schools. These children are innocent victims of their dangerous surroundings that they need rescued from. EdChoice is their way out, the vision is there, put FAMILIES first (not the NEA union!) and back up the parents with freedom of choice in quality education and safety. Don't let the criminal few ruin it for the majority that truly want to learn.

Again I say, Shabazz wants to revitalize the Uptown Theatre,, of course with goverment money . What a joke! These hoodrats could work the candy stand and take the money from the suburanites when they buy their tickets. Now I do not know about their vehicles when they come out of the theatre, they could also be given bullet proof vests when the go to their cars

Quit referring to these knuckleheads as having families. They are not families, they are one step above animals. They can't read, can't write, can't talk proper English, can't get a job and we get blamed for it.

We had enough of this when we lived in the city. Every year it got worse. When we had the opportunity to sell a few years ago, we were gone. We lost a considerable amount of money, but it was well worth it. Living with foul neighbors whose "children" constantly vandalized our property and would steal anything that was not nailed down was not fun. You couldn't retaliate. You couldn't leave your car in the driveway, as you would find it broken into by morning. The police could do nothing and the neighborhood rats would laugh at you.

We moved to the country nearby, I armed myself and re-learned my military training. I now have a shooting range. Our 2 dogs run free in the yard and always announce a visitor. We have to commute a little, but we feel safe now and our neighbors are the best. In our neighborhood the kids play basketball without shooting each other and everyone speaks English you can understand. Even the nice hispanic family down the road. Their kids have jobs and drive cars. Everything feels so normal now. I only wish everyone could enjoy this comfort as well. Everyone deserves a good lifestyle and it is a real shame people have to lose much of their savings in order to get out of a bad neighborhood.

To those who complain about the people living in the 'burbs...remember why they are there. Don't be blaming people for moving out of the cities. They are only protecting their families and their savings. In the cities, the police can't help, the councilmen can't help and the mayor can't help. Unlike in European and some Asian cities, our American cities are dangerous and dying and we are doing nothing to reverse the trend.

Are you not sick and tired of defending these animals "mauzy?" A young black teenager shoots a 40 year old women trying to break up a fight. What is there to defend? I'm sure the whole south side knows who did it, get ticked off at them for not giving up names, instead of the innocent ones that have to put up with this animal mentality! You have no argument about it, for if the opportunity arises, they would rob or shoot you in a heartbeat. smh at such stupidity in society today.
