MCDONALD

The McDonald school board has rehired Jeff Rasile as the boys basketball coach, replacing Brian Higgins who was coach for one year.

Rasile resigned in 2011 after eight years as head coach. He led the Blue Devils to eight straight district championships and 164 victories.

Amy Dolsak was named girls coach for 2012 -2013, replacing Rob Hilbun, who resigned after 11 years as head coach.

Schools superintendent Ken Halbert noted Dolsak comes to the McDonald coaching staff while she also has been working as a substitute teacher.

She has been an assistant coach at Youngstown State University for women’s basketball for the past year, and before that was assistant coach at Austintown Fitch.

A McDonald native, she played for the Blue Devils for four years, and also played for Westminster College’s women’s basketball team for four years and was co-captain of the team.

Wonderful how the "genius" Rasile took a year off while the program struggled after all of the seniors who left the year before. Now that they've had a year to re-group, he comes flying back in to take all the credit if they are prominent again. What a phony.
