Boardman man charged in pot growing operation

Township police found 69 marijuana plants growing, more than 115 root balls of previously harvested marijuana and several harvested marijuana plants when executing a search warrant at 1082 Shields Road.
The resident, Matthew F. Delsignore, was charged Wednesday with cultivating marijuana in the vicinity of a juvenile, trafficking marijuana in the vicinity of a juvenile and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said there were neighbors with children.
Police also found three guns under a mattress and more than $9,000 cash, according to reports. Police have filed a seizure form asking the court to forfeit: a 2006 Honda Civic, Echo Bearcat chipper, 37-inch TV, video game systems, $11,468 cash, $2,170 in money orders and 60 silver coins.
The initial weight of all the harvested, unharvested and packaged marijuana totalled 49 pounds, report state.
Delsignore pleaded not guilty Thursday to possession of drug paraphernalia and did not enter a plea on the two felony counts.
