CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Super Bingo Sunday will take place Sunday at St. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. for lunch and early seating. Games begin at 2 p.m. A $25 donation will entitle players to free daubers, all cards and games, coffee and pop for the entire day and a chance to win $3,400 in cash prizes, including a $1,000 guaranteed coverall. CRAFT SHOWS

Faith Community Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, has spaces available for its annual craft show, planned for Oct. 20. The cost is $20 for an 8-foot table and 10-foot space. Interested vendors should call 330-792-2835.

Saxon Club Branch 22 Ladies Auxiliary is looking for vendors for its fall craft show scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. Tables may be rented for $25 through Oct. 31; then the cost will increase to $35. For information call 330-788-4274.

FESTIVALS/FAIRS

Harvey S. Firestone Festival of the Arts in Columbiana will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the park. Artists, crafters and antique dealers, a variety of food vendors and an afternoon of free entertainment will be available.

Leetonia Artisans Festival Committee is seeking arts, crafts, antiques and collectibles vendors for the 27th annual show, set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 23, rain or shine, at Leetonia Wick Park on Walnut Street. Spots are $40 for 15-by-15-foot spaces for regular vendors or $50 for food vendors. Vendor applications can be obtained at www.leetonia.org or by contacting Dan Morelli at 330-427-6741. RAFFLES

Hubbard High School Alumni Association is selling tickets for a chance to win a golf and vacation package to the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. The three-night stay for four people includes one round of golf per person, one 50-minute Swedish massage per person and $500 spending money. The package is good Sunday through Thursday on a space-available basis through May 2014. The drawing will take place Oct. 13 at the Hubbard High School Alumni Banquet. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased in Hubbard at Joe’s Barber Shop, Hubbard Soaring Eagle and Deer Creek Golf Course and at Golden Dawn Restaurant in Youngstown. Proceeds will benefit the association’s scholarship fund. Tickets also can be purchased by sending a check to Hubbard High School Alumni Association, c/o Mary Buchenic, 329 Christian Ave., Hubbard, OH 44425. Ohio State University Alumni Club of Trumbull and Mahoning Counties is announcing its annual benefit football ticket raffle. The grand prize is two President’s Club season football tickets good for all eight home games. Second prize is two tickets to the University of Miami home opener Sept. 1. Raffle tickets are $20 each or three for $50; only 600 tickets will be sold. Proceeds will benefit the club’s scholarship fund. Belleria Pizza, 3460 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will be the site of a car trunk and treasure sale to benefit the Greater East Ohio Alzheimer’s Association on Aug. 18. Fill up your trunk, take an extra card table if you like, and sell those unneeded items. The sale will be from 8 to 11 a.m., and setup will begin at 7. Pizza and refreshments also will be available. Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, needs vendors who want to set up in the large front yard on Route 164 for its Community Yard Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 (Rain date is Sept. 22). To reserve a space call 330-482-4824 and leave a message with your name and phone number, and your call will be returned. A single 12-by-12-foot space is $15, and a 12-by-24-foot place is $20. Vendors must supply their own tables. Proceeds will be used to take youths on a mission trip.

Damascus United Methodist Church is accepting donations for its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 25. Fill a brown paper bag for $4 all day Aug. 24 and until noon Aug. 25; then fill your bag for $1 from noon until closing. Larger items will be priced separately. Proceeds will support local missions of the Damascus United Methodist Women. A bake sale and lunch bar will be available.

Immaculate Heart of Mary will have its annual Treasures in Your Trunk Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 15 in the church parking lot, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. The cost is $10 per space for early registration; money must be received by Sept. 13. There are 100 spaces available. Any spaces available after the deadline will cost $15. No refunds. Bring your own table up to 8 feet long to set up in front of your trunk. A used book sale will take place in the parish center at the same time. Junior Women’s League of Canfield is recruiting vendors for the 43rd annual Fall Market on the Canfield Village Green. This year’s event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 15. Newton Falls community-wide garage sales will take place Aug. 17, 18 and 19. No city permit is required for these three days.

North Jackson Citizens Association will have its Community-Wide Yard Sales Days at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. There will be more than 150 sales with addresses listed. A map to local sales throughout the township will be available at 11349 W. Mahoning Ave. and business on Friday. Parking will be free at that location. Steve Frazzini will provide live music.

Voices of Youth Closet is accepting donations for the Voices of Youth rummage sale, which will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Packard Shelter House, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. Donations will be accepted at the shelter house from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. No clothes or shoes will be accepted.

Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown, will have a Kids Resale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 29. Set-up will be from 7 to 11 a.m. Gently used kids clothes, from baby to teen; toys; baby furniture; maternity clothes, etc., will be available. The fee for a table is $20. E.B. Family Life Center will sponsor a bus trip Aug. 18 to the 30th African Festival at the Philip Hart Plaza in Detroit. The bus departs at 7:30 a.m. from the center at 7 S. Garland Ave., Youngstown, and return will be that night. The cost is $50. The festival will celebrate Africa and African culture. There will be games, prizes and refreshments on the bus. Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens is hosting a bus tour of Philadelphia’s Gardens of Brandywine Valley on Aug. 9- 12. Garden stops include Chanticleer, Morris Arboretum and the world-renowned Longwood Gardens, which will be highlighted by an evening of fireworks and a fountain show. Mahoning Valley Italian Society Inc. is sponsoring a trip to Meadows Casino on Sept. 10. The bus will load at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 9 a.m. from the back parking lot of St. Joseph the Provider, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. The return loading will be at 4 p.m., and the bus will leave by 4:15 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. The casino is giving $15 in free play and $5 for food. Salem’s St. Paul Church is sponsoring a Sept. 6 bus tour to “The Strip” in Pittsburgh. The two-hour walking tour, which includes historical information on the area, is a midday outing of the area’s multicultural eateries and features samplings of Italian pastries, Mediterranean specialties, European meats and French bread. Shopping time in the area follows the tour. The cost is $60, due by Wednesday. The trip is limited to 40 registrants. Call 330-337-7215.
