YOUNGSTOWN — A 26-year-old city man is facing a felonious assault charge, accused of stabbing a 20-year-old man police said burglarized the older man’s home.
Officers were called to the intersection of Magnolia and Woodcrest avenues on the East Side about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday for a large fight. When officers arrived, Braielyn D. Jones, 20, had a small stomach wound and accused Michael Montanez-Vega, 26, of stabbing him.
According to police, Montanez-Vega nodded yes when police asked if he had stabbed Jones, and he said Jones had stolen his laptop computer from his home.
Police said other witnesses said Jones was seen running from the house and officers found Montanez-Vega’s computer near Jones’ residence, records show. Jones faces an aggravated burglary charge.

Who in the world names a kid "Braielyn." Pitiful.
He had a charge back in 2011 for Theft. This little wanna be gangsta should be locked away for a bit for his THEFTS. Maybe get a job and make a honest living instead of stealing. And the cockroach is only 20! Sure is parent(s) are proud of him.
Stealing a laptop computer does not automatically end your rights. Attacking someone for a suspected theft is illegal and will open the door for criminal and civil charges. The proper way is to contact law enforcement. They will bring forth charges against the suspect if any are warranted.
There sure are a lot of arrests for robbery and burglary lately. YPD is stepping up.

"The proper way is to contact law enforcement."
Yea, I'll call law enforcement or the coroners van after the fact. Anyone breaks into my home, will be shot on site. Real simple. And the consequences will be what it is. No reason for lowly human DNA to break into someones house and steal or kill or injure someone for nothing. Noone should have there family threatened in there own house. They make sneak in but they'll go out in a body bag.
Felonious assault? Lucky it wasn't attempted murder!
