Forum on fracking scheduled for today

youngstown

The Ohio Environmental Council is hosting an educational forum on fracking today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Youngstown Public Library’s main branch.

Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a process in which sand, water and chemicals are pumped into shale at a high pressure to release the gas trapped within the rock thousands of feet underground.

The forum will focus on health concerns relating to the process. Janet Reeves, a retired nurse, and Scott Bolam, from the Mahoning County Board of Health are among those who will speak.

I will be holding a seminar on fracking your own well soon. Many have the desire but lack the experience. The risks are minimal and the payoffs are rewarding. The procedure is not life threatening and is much safer than driving your automobile on the highway.
