Explain why my property taxes have not gone down even though my property value is way lower than what it was when I bought my home.
Why don't they send out a brief report & a Budget summary with the Tax demands .
Mahoning County & Youngstown City are particularly unaccountable bodies & you can't even get good information about their activities & costs on their websites .A lot of the Townships do much better in this respect , despite their smaller resources . I can't understand why taxpayers have put up with this for so long. I pay nearly as much as the Mayor in properrty taxes , but at least he gets to review the expenditure .
