Youngstown police investigating shooting

Published: Tue, July 10, 2012 @ 3:31 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are trying to determine how and why a man ended up in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his head this afternoon.

A woman brought the unidentified man to St. Elizabeth Health Center at about 1:15 p.m. bleeding heavily from the head and in need of medical attention. Emergency personnel were able to contain the wound and the man is now listed in stable condition.

Police Capt. Mark Milstead said the woman initially told police the man was shot somewhere on the South Side, but investigators were still questioning her as of 3:30 p.m. Milstead said he cannot say for certain if the gunshot wound was self-inflicted or fired by someone other than the victim.

“We are still in the process of interviewing the witness now, so until we do that and get it all ironed out, we really can’t say what happened,” he said.

More "free" healthcare I"m sure. That is okay, Ill keep paying my increasing premiums so this guy can get that great healthcare that the messiah wants to kill for his socialized medicine show. Oh, by the way, instead of paying insuance company premium we will then have tp pay a state and federal hospitalization premium to take c are of these freebies for the people who can not afford the government run program. twenty-seven thousand pages ofl l awyer gobble dee goop

the trauma team is in the right place for practice. Better get it in before the VIP patrols kick in. LOL Yep I got shot in the head but I'm not quite sure how it got there. ya gotta love em. Don't worry as stated above my dime will pay for your silly as* so you can go back home and collect some money ,make some more kids, and wait on the next shooting. GEEEEZZZZZ. When will they ever learn. Maybe another community meeting or ACTION committee to figure out why this happened.

It's funny (not really) how people on here whine about the "free health care" when someone gets shot in youngstown. Most likely because the victims are usually black. How about how home and car insurance premiums are skyrocketing because of home burglaries and car break-ins ( usually the white trash of the burbs trying to get drug money). Crime is crime no matter the color of the persons skin and should be treated the same across the board.

The free health care and all the other benefits kept him at home all day with nothing to do but get high and chill out. and we (the working class) should not complain about paying for all this crap, COME ON!!! and you are right they are usually black, the statistics overwhelmingly uphold that in blinding numbers. Home burglaries, car break in's, thats a new excuse. It's amazing how many excuses one can make to make your behavior seem minor.WOW
