New Middletown woman struck by car, dies

NORTH LIMA

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian. The accident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Market Street at Calla Road in Beaver Township.

Troopers said Kristina J. Kaiser, 51, of New Middletown, was trying to cross Market Street on foot when she was hit a car driven by Sean M. Lynch, 20, of Beaver, Ohio.

Kaiser was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown where she later died, according to reports. Lynch was not injured.

She was 51 and joking about someone losing their life is sick...

I think Casper is referring to the driver. Have you actually heard that the driver was distracted? Or are you just assuming that because they are young that is what they were doing? It is possible that the driver just did not see this woman because it is dark at 1030 pm and she was in the road.

My condolences to the family, and to the driver who will live with this for the rest of their life.

This is so very very sad, devastating, upsetting, regarding the 51 year- old lady crossing Market Street.
Maybe...just maybe, the young 20 year-old driver could not avoid this horrific accident; nighttime, rainy weather conditions.
Just curious if alcohol/toxicology any factor with pedestrian?

this woman was my cousin shame on you people who make fun of someones death. I hope it does not happen to you or someone in your family. God be with the family of Krissy and the young man who hit her and also these people who wrote negative comments.

She was my mother in law and I would like to say that it was an accident... that poor boy who hit her will live with this the rest of his life... it was dark, raining very hard and probably hard to see...
if you want to come down on someone how about the news channels that released her name before family was notified (her sister found out from the news at 6 am) and checking with the family before posting a photo of her on the news, that none of us thought was her.... so there come down on WKBN 27 and WYTV 33.... they are making this harder on us because of their lack of caring!

That is so horrible and am sad to hear this. Krissy is my second cousin and our family in Phoenix is keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Shame on the TV station for being so careless. God Bless you all.
