YOUNGSTOWN — In a war of words, Mahoning County Prosecutor Paul J. Gains says his Democratic primary opponent “clearly doesn’t respect the truth” and is running a “smear campaign.”
Youngstown Prosecutor Jay Macejko, Gains’ March 6 primary opponent, said, “It’s become more and more clear that Mr. Gains wants this campaign to be about anything but the poor performance of his office.”
Both camps were busy today sending emails to media members criticizing the other for distorting facts.

The problems with Gains' office are chronic and a change at the top needs to occur. That is why Macejko has such broad support, and that is why Macejko recieved the endorsement.
The election is not becoming a smear campaign--it is just Gains dodging the truth and clouding the water in an effort to disguise his office's ineptness.

Nice try on passing this off on YPD. Aren't prosecutors supposed to update and conference with investigators well in advance of a murder trial, in an effort to not look stupid?...Less fundraising and more prosecuting, please!
Gains needs to face it that the public is well aware of his office's poor performance which starts at the top. This is only trying to serve as a distraction and is making Gains look stupid.

Cost the city of Youngstown $160,000 for his RLEIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION!! macejko has caused a CURRENT lawsuit (2011CV1291) for the city because of his DISCRIMINATORY alleged actions against one of his secretaries who REFUSED to LIE for macejko in the federal lawsuit! Not my opinion, supposition or rumor......all these FACTS are outlined in the lawsuit! Why hasn't macejko been fired by Youngstown? Why hasn't he been charged with DERELICTION OF DUTY and INTERFERENCE OF CIVIL RIGHTS??
