Do-Cut to open at new location

BOARDMAN

Dante Terzigni is keeping his word to rebuild his business, Do-Cut True Value Hardware, which was destroyed in a Sept. 14 fire.

A new Do-Cut store is expected to open at the end of March at 1401 Boardman-Canfield Road, in the former Creekside Beverage, next to Golf Headquarters.

The new store will not carry hardware, instead focusing on outdoor power equipment, such as lawn mowers and snow blowers.

Do-Cut, which is celebrating 65 years in business, had its Canfield store at 6422 S. Raccoon Road for 33 years, Terzigni said. The only other location is in Warren.

The Canfield store was larger than the new Boardman store, which is why hardware was cut out, he said.

A separate shop for service and repairs is being set up near the Boardman store.

Crews from Canfield, Austintown, Beaver, Green, Boardman and Ellsworth worked to extinguish the Sept. 14 fire. The business was a total loss, firefighters said. The total market value of the 17,980-square-foot property was $618,500, according to the Mahoning County Auditor’s website.

Terzigni said after the fire, many people came forward offering assistance and made the drive to the Warren store to continue shopping with the company.

“It’s been wonderful, and I thank the community for their support,” he said.

Glad you are reopening, very nice people. But we need a hardware store so we don't have to go to the box stores. I bought power equipment there because I was in there all the time for hardware and other small items. Now if I am going to Home Depot for that stuff, why would I go to Do Cut for the other? They should really reconsider.

Never had a problem there. They were nice to me and my kids. I hope we don't end up with a WalMart on that corner.
