Valley school districts Race to the Top for reforms

VALLEY DISTRICTS IN RACE

Nine Mahoning Valley school districts received grant money through the federal Race to the Top initiative in 2010. One district originally funded, Bloomfield-Mesopotamia in Trumbull County, dropped out. The districts and amounts received to be spread over four years:

Canfield: $100,000

Jackson-Milton: $100,000

Sebring: $100,000

Western Reserve: $100,000

Columbiana: $100,000

Crestview: $106,583

Leetonia: $100,000

Lisbon: $124,222

Brookfield: $189,477

Why didn't Youngstown Schools get on board with this?? Seems like a very good program!

Miki: Mathews doesn't need the money? You obviously haven't toured the conditions of any of the schools in the last 20 years! The schools are in desperate need of being reconditioned or rebuilt.
You apparently don't have kids in the school district or your elderly and don't care about the kids who are in the schools.
