GOOD news! We've been waiting.
Bottom Dollar is owned by a belgium company. They have closed several of their other brand stores including some Bottom Dollar stores. They are no better than the other companies that let jobs go and then open up new stores in other places.
and if anyone looked at the job listings for this food lion clone ..well minimum wage and part time ...wow that'll help the workers ...lol
Bottom Dollar...could mean bottom foods from Argentina, Brazil, and Asia. Do you trust their quality control? Read the Labels...buy American if you can! Let's stop this madness!
I wish Bottom Dollar the most success in all parts of town, especially the South Side. If it takes a well-run foreign-owned company to anchor the revitilization of Glenwood Ave., then so be it, the good citizens of that neighborhood will fully support it. Another blight-buster in our city!
You do have to give them credit for their bravery! Do the employees get bullet proof vests as standard issue?
Wow such negativity. This is a GOOD thing for the South Side, especially for the elderly who can't drive to the "suburbs" to get food.
And for you in the 'burbs who look down on us south siders - I used to live in the 'burbs. Trust me, you're no better than anyone who lives in the south side.
VINDYAK
"buy American if you can" .
The good people of Glenwood Ave WERE buying American & the blight only got worse !
Remember the Party Pantry etc. ?
Foreign investors are only required because local investors are too prejudiced in all ways .
