The Youngstown State football team picked up its first local commitment of the 2012 class on Thursday night when Cardinal Mooney lineman Austin Trgovcich gave his verbal commitment to the Penguins.
Trgovcich (6-3, 285) was a first-team All-Ohio selection last fall, clearing the way for Mooney's Division III state championship team. He also had a Division I offer from North Texas.
He is the 14th commitment in YSU's 2012 class and the first from the tri-county area.

A good get, although you have to wonder why he only received one other Division I offer.
Light up the cigars Mooney fans.
Ya Kinda wonder why Oklahoma or Nebraska didn't offer! You know, just to get that train rolling like they do. They show interest and other schools follow.
