Campbell family escapes safely from $45,000 house fire

Firefighters in Campbell didn’t get much time to usher in the new year before they had to get back to work.

A family of seven escaped unharmed when their three-story home caught fire about 15 minutes into the new year Sunday.

The blaze, which caused an estimated $45,000 damage, started in an attic bedroom of the home at 147 Cortland Ave.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, firefighters said.

Campbell firefighters were assisted by units from the Struthers and Coitsville fire departments.
