Valley’s Democratic Club breaks ranks with official party in Gains, Pishkur endorsements

YOUNGSTOWN
The Mahoning Valley Democratic Club has announced its endorsements for the March 6 primary election. All unopposed Democratic candidates were unanimously endorsed by the club.
The club broke ranks with the official Mahoning County Democratic Party by endorsing incumbent Paul Gains for prosecutor and Walter J. Pishkur for county commissioner.
The party officially endorsed Jay Maecjko and David Ditzler respectively for those posts last month.

Unless you believe in "bought and paid for" endorsements... then these endorsements don't mean a whole lot. Anyone who walked in to the endorsement meeting that night and paid a $10 registration fee (or had a candidate slap down $250 for 25 of their friends) could have voted. So congratulations to the "endorsed candidates" who had their friends show up.
